    • ]]>     Cancer is a word that no one wants to hear in their life or in the life of people that they know. Unfortunately it is a condition that is becoming all too common in thousands of people. There are dozens of different types of cancer. Some of the more common include; breast cancer, liver cancer, prostate cancer, and colon cancer.

    Out of these, colon cancer (colorectal cancer) is the most popular. According to statistics 1 out of 17 people in the United States alone will be diagnosed with colon cancer. It has been ranked the third most common cancer that men will be diagnosed with.

    What makes colon cancer so deadly is how hard it is to spot it during an early stage. There are several different types of colon cancer that will affect a person differently. Some are more severe than others and if they are not diagnosed early there is no hopeful treatment for the patient.

    Adenocarcinomas

    This is the most common type of colon cancer that will begin in a person’s glands. This type has two different subtypes that include; signet ring cell and mutinous. 90 – 95% of people who are diagnosed with colon cancer will have the adenocarcinomas type.

    Leiomyosarcomas

    This type of colon cancer will begin inside of the smooth muscle that is in the colon. Less than 2% of people who are diagnosed with colon cancer will be diagnosed with this type. They also have an increased chance of treating colon cancer.

    Lymphomas

    Lymphomas is a rare type of colon cancer that will usually form in the rectum before traveling to the colon. It is possible for them to form in other parts of the body. When this happens the cancer has a greater risk of spreading to the colon before traveling to the rectum at a quicker pace.

    Melanomas

    This is another rare type of colon cancer that will usually form in a different part of a person’s body before it spread to the colon and the rectum. Not even 2% of people diagnosed with colon cancer will suffer from this condition.

    Neuroendocrine Tumors

    These tumors have been split into two classifications; indolent and aggressive. The aggressive type are neuroendocrine tumors that can be large or small cell. Carcinoid tumors are indolent.
