There are two common types of hemorrhoids; internal and external. Both of them are painful and have to be treated differently. Unfortunately internal hemorrhoids are much more difficult to treat then the external kinds because of the unlikely place that they are situated in.

Some people might turn to surgical methods to help get rid of them. The most common way you can treat internal hemorrhoids is with a rubber band. Your doctor can place the band tightly around the hemorrhoid. This will work to kill it until it falls off on its own. The only disadvantage to this is that it can be extremely painful and can cause an increase in bleeding then what you were experiencing before.

Other then having to deal with the pain of it there are no other health risks involved in this treatment method. Because these are hard to get to and unlike the external type they are not always easy to reach when using special creams doctors will often recommend this procedure.

Hemorrhoidopexy is another method that involved the stapling of the hemorrhoids. During this procedure the surgeon will staple the internal hemorrhoids into the proper place. Many patients and doctors will opt for this procedure when it is bleeding heavily. When it happens you will find that this method is much more painful when compared to the rubber band treatment. The good thing is though that the hemorrhoids have less chance to come back in the near future.

It is important that you talk with your doctor before you choose the method that is best for you. There are other common internal hemorrhoid treatments to use and each one has their own risks and disadvantages that you will want to consider before making your final decision. Ask yourself if it is better to live with the problem or to do whatever you can to put a stop to it.
