There comes a time in everyone’s lives when they feel that they are at the end of their ropes and they are unable to pay for the more simplest of things. If you are lucky than you were given help by family or friends who were willing to sacrifice and help you to pay the bills or that high medical bill. It is important to find a way to help others that you know who might also be in need.

The best types of fundraisers are the ones that allow us to throw huge parties and to invite some of the big wigs in the city so that they are able to dance, eat good food, and donate a lot of money. However, most of us do not have the budget to be able to pull something like this off plus raise a substantial amount of money for those who are in need of it.

That is when you should put together a garage sale. What you need to do is go to your kids schools, your Church, and your work and ask them to donate household items, clothes, and toys that you will be able to sell. Make sure they know that they are donating and not receiving any money in return for their donations.

Sift through everything that you have been given and give them all a price tag. Remember that this is a garage sale and that the price needs to be low and fair. Set up the garage sale on a weekend and in a public place if possible. The best place would be to do it in a parking lot of the Church or your work.

This quick fundraiser idea needs to be well planned out and you need to give people plenty of notice. Put up large signs all over the area and give people directions. Also try to put together ads or flyers around town. Make sure that people know it is for a good cause. With enough publicity you could really sell a lot and raise a lot of money for the people in need.
