The time has come for families to sit down and carefully plan out every detail of their summer vacation. With the economy in near shambles people are trying to come up with fun ways to spend time away from the home without having to spend a great deal of money. A great way that you can do this is to go camping.
All you need to do is find a safe place around your area where you will be able to camp out and bring along the right supplies that you will be able to live off of for a few days or a week. When you have small kids you want to make sure to include them in the planning and bring along the right type of gear that they can use.
The first thing to get is the tent. You want to make sure that everyone is going to be safe and also comfortable. When you have really little kids you want to make sure that you get a tent that is large to accommodate both you and the kids. These will often have a partition to give you some privacy. If they are older you can have them pick out a few practical tents to have.
Another thing that you are going to have to get for everyone are backpacks. These are going to allow everyone to hold their own water bottle, first aid kit, emergency supplies, sleeping bags, and maybe even a few things that will help to set up the rest of the camp. Everyone has to pitch in and pull their own weight. Have the kids pick out the one that they love the best.
When that is done you just have to look at any other type of kids camping gear that you think would be fun for them to have. Possibly get everyone their own chair to use or a fishing pole that you can use to help teach them the finer arts of catching their own dinner. In that way everyone will be able to have tons of fun on the next vacation.
