When it comes to the home it is important that we find the most efficient way to keep it clean. When we allow it to become dirty and stay that way we are teaching our kids that it is not important to clean. We are also creating a breeding ground for germs, bacteria, and mold. The best thing you can do to avoid this problems is to spring clean the home.
Take a room a day if you do not have a whole weekend to get it all done. Do one room at a time. You will start by taking everything out of the room. Sort through all of the junk that is in every nook and cranny and throw away what you do not need or even want. Make sure to move out all of the furniture as well.
Now go through and dust every inch of it. Start with the top and work your way down. This means you need to clean off the ceiling light and fan and remove the cob webs from the ceiling. You should also work on the windows and make them shine again.
Once you have removed the many layers of dust you will be able to get down and work on the baseboards. Don’t think that you can get away without tackling these! You need to get down with some warm water and mild soap and scrub them off. If they look worn than try to get some white paint and touch them up.
The last thing you need to do is vacuum the floors. This is one reason why you took everything out. Vacuum every inch (including the closets). Now rent a steam cleaner and run it through the whole area. This should help to remove stains and make it look like new again! It is one of the best things to do.
