When you go out camping you are surrounded by nature. There are no restaurants to eat at or bathrooms to take a shower in. For a few days or a week you are alone with your family and friends. Luckily there are still many ways to have fun – but people feel that they have to give up some of the things they really love like food!

It can sometimes be difficult for us to know what type of recipes to prepare out in the middle of nowhere when we do not have a cabin to stay in. However, it is not impossible. All you need is some good food and cookware that will make it all possible!

Breakfast

The first meal to take care of is breakfast. Bring along a cast iron skillet and a spatula. Start your campfire and place the skillet over the rack that is over the heat. This is basically your stove! In the skillet you can prepare eggs, bacon, French toast, biscuits, or sausage. Just keep all of your food in a tight cooler so that animals don’t track it down.

Lunch

This is probably the easiest out of all the meals. You want to prepare something that is quick and easy so that you can get back to hiking or swimming in the lake. Have bread, cheese, and meat on hand. To go with the sandwiches you can provide pretzels or chips. Again make sure it is all tightly sealed in containers when you are not eating them.

Dinner

This is by far one of the trickiest camping recipes to figure out and you can do several things. The most common thing to eat are hamburgers and hot dogs. Everyone loves them and they are easy to cook. If you want something more filling you can bring along a camping oven dish and cook a casserole. Of course this takes longer and requires a lot of ingredients.
