Cell phones are something that nearly everyone owns and uses. It is not uncommon for a parent to purchase one for each member family member as a way of keeping in touch or for emergencies. A great deal of people will even try to save money every month by removing their land lines and relying solely on the cell phone for communication. This is a good idea – but with one flaw. It could mean that we will receive calls from numbers that we don’t recognize. It helps to know how you can perform a reverse cell phone lookup to see exactly who is calling and what their intentions might be.

Search Engine

There are different methods that you can use that will help you to discover who is calling you. The first option to try that is completely free is to use a search engine like Google or Bing (whichever you prefer). The only problem with this is that it can only be used if the number has a website that corresponds to it. For better results trying typing the number in several different formats.

White Pages

The next thing you can try is to look through the online white or yellow pages. If the number you are given is a home or business land line phone than this method will give you the answer you are looking for. The only time this will usually not work is if the person who called you used their cell phone. Businesses might use them as a means of communication and list it in the yellow pages – but personal cell numbers will not.

Directories

Probably the most accurate way of performing a reverse cell phone lookup is to go through an online directory. All you have to do is pay a small fee and give them the number. They will use the information to search for who it belongs to using their own methods and will give you the results. This is also considered to be the most accurate because they know how to confirm their results.
