Aromatherapy is a type of alternative health practice that uses specific essential oils to stimulate different senses in the body. It is used in place of prescription and over the counter medicines and can be used to treat a variety of health problems including sinus infections.

The oils that are used are highly concentrated and have been taken from aromatic plants before being combined with other carrier oils. All of the essential oils are stimulating and help to clear out the nasal passages and act as an antiseptic to treat it.

First you need to choose a type of carrier oil that will be based upon the type of skin that you have. Visit a health food store and look for something that is going to work for dry or sensitive skin.

Measure and pour out 20 ml of the carrier oil into a dark blue or brown glass bottle. The essential oil that you purchase should be able to help fight off the symptoms that you are experiencing. Some of the best to use are rosemary and eucalyptus. These are invigorating and help to relive congestion in the nasal passages and in the chest.

Combine two drops of the rosemary and eucalyptus oils with the carrier oil. Shake it gently to mix it together. Now massage the face, head, and chest. You should also add some to the neck and the base of the skull. Massage the temples with a dilution of 1% of peppermint oil that will help to clear the nasal passages.

The best way to treat sinus infections naturally is to pour four drops of the eucalyptus oil in a large bowl with boiling water. Place a towel over your head and slowly breathe the steam in to clear the nasal passages.
