Creating a garden is a great way to enhance the appearance of your back yard and to transform it into your own personal haven. When you are bordered by sweet smelling flowers you will have the ability to truly enjoy the beauty of the open air and relax after a tough day at work. For most people it is not enough to have flowers and trees. They wish to add something really unusual to enhance the atmosphere. The best way to accomplish this is to add a pond.

It is manageable to spend a couple hundred dollars on something that you can make on your own. By the time you are finished you will have something unusual and that everyone will love.

Measurements

The first thing you have to do is find out where you need it to be placed. Most people may place it as the focal point in the garden. It is also great to set it to the side and leave the middle for a bench or swing. When you know where you want it to be situated settle on the amount of room it needs to take up. Try to measure and rope off the desired area to give you an idea of how it will look when you are done.

Supplies

Visit your local home department store and buy the preassembled pond lining. Be sure that you go by the measurements that you put down. You will also need to buy a pond pump filter so that it can stay clean with little upkeep.

Installation

Dig a hole to be a bit bigger than the pond lining. Once you are done set the lining inside of the hole so that it is tight. Put in the pump and fill it up with water. Put in any fish, plants, or pond lights to help adorn it.
