Mold is a horrible thing to have to deal with. It is a toxic substance that causes many problems and can create health problems in people with weak immune systems and respiratory problems. It will grow in places that receive little amounts of sunshine and a lot of moisture on a daily basis. This makes your bathroom vulnerable to it.

It is important that you take the necessary steps to prevent this substance from growing in any part of your bathroom. This will take a bit of work because it is the ultimate breeding ground for it. Not only does it come into contact with a lot of moisture every day – but it also provides it with germs that it can feed off of.

The first thing that you should do is to check around the entire area for leaks. When you are cleaning it look at the pipes and see if there is any water coming out. Smell and try to determine if there is a horrible odor coming from anywhere. The leak could be around the toiler or under the sink so look everywhere.

Make sure to clean all of the hard surfaces. This includes the walls and ceilings. You can buy special mold killing products or you can simply combine bleach with water. It is also important that you take down the shower curtain once a week and clean it off. If you see any black specks over the bottom of it than you know it is mold.

There are ways that you can reduce the amount of moisture in the room. Before you take a hot shower allow cold water to run out for a couple of minutes. Always allow the exhaust fan to be running during a shower so that it can reduce the amount of steam that is left in the room. Another way to remove mold is to open a window and the shower curtain. This will allow the moisture to evaporate quickly.
