Numerous of us have basements in our house that we often don’t know what we are going to do with. While the additional space is nice it is frequently too dark or too cold to do much of anything with. But we are not thinking about all of the potential that it has to offer. Whether your basement is completed or even if it is not there are many things you can do with it. One of the best is to turn it into a home theater.

Flooring

The first thing you should do is to place down floors. You can use stone, cement, or thin carpet. The basement is a really dark and often wet place so you don’t need any thing that is going to get ruined easily. Cement is the most affordable choice and versatile. You can put it down and then paint it the color you want.

Lighting

The best theater is a dark one – but you will need some kind of lighting. It is best to put wall lights along the back of the room where you will be sitting. It may also be best to have something either side in the center of the room but nothing to close to the screen. Try to use dim lights that will let you to see but not get in the way of your viewing pleasure.

Theater System

There are several kinds of systems that you can utilize in your home theater basement. If you are wanting to use a big screen without having to drop a fortune than you should invest in a projector. The screens can be as big as the smallest wall and just cost you around $2,000. This is a far cry from what a normal television of a smaller size would normally cost. Also don’t forget to get the surround sound speakers that can connect to it.
