I’m sure you’ve been there before, out at the campsite and you’ve got the food ready and have no place to sit down and eat on. Or, you’re sitting next to the campfire and there’s nothing to do – thinking it sure would be nice to play some cards right now. In this article, we’ll discuss some of the things you’ll want to look for when buying a camping table, so that you’ll be able to bring some convenience with you while you camp.
First you’ll want to find a place to shop. Honestly, in this day and age I personally always look to the web first. The Internet shopping experience has greatly outpaced brick and morter locations for more than just convenience. Buying online will give you more options and a better chance to shop around and compare prices. Sites like eBay, Amazon and even actual retail locations often offer discounts to online shoppers.
Next you’ll want to look at functionality, size and portability, price and quality. Some designs have neat add-ons like bench seats, stove heater holders and cupholders for example – which you may or may not need. Size does matter, larger surface areas are great while you’re setup and the campground – but what about getting it there? This is where portability comes in, because you want it to break down and fold up for easier transporting. Material is of concern, I prefer plastic but if you’re cooking on it you might want aluminum. Some people prefer wood but I don’t, it’s just too heavy. As for quality, stick with a name brand that you can trust. You do, usually, get what you pay for.
As you can see, buying a portable or fold-able camping table doesn’t have to be something to dread. You can find great deals online if you know what to look for. Stick with those four factors – functionality, portability, price and quality and you won’t go wrong. If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask in the comments section.
