Technology is all around us – making it difficult to try to do anything without it. The cell phones, computers, televisions, and even cars that we use are all essential to us and help us to run our business and go about our normal days. Though we know what they are and how they work we do not understand the many parts that work together for each of them to function properly.

One such part that is used in many different machines and technology products is the servo valve. This device is used to give off a closed loop flow to any electronic control signal. They are quite useful because they do not have to be mechanically hooked up to the item they are working with. Instead they connect through wireless or electrical input that will help to control the pressure as well as the direction of the flow of information.

These devices are very much like proportional valves except that they are able to give more control to the information being passed along. However, both of these types of valves use hydraulics, pneumatics, water transport, steam, gas, and any other type of specialized application to function.

Most types will use output pressure along with a hydraulic piston to help control the load. This pressure is often between two sides of a load actuator or it might be in a small and single line that is linked to just one part of the actuator. The response given off of the load and sent to the pressure that comes from the servo valve is measured electrically and then sent back.

There are different types of servo valves that are used for the same reason – but they might function in a different way and through different specialized applications. The type that is used will depend on what machine requires it and why it needs it.
