How many times have we slipped and fallen on our linoleum kitchen flooring? There are times when I will spill something liquid onto the floor and on my way to clean it up I end up falling all over the place and making an even bigger mess. While linoleum floors look great they can be very smooth and out of place in the kitchen for some people.

This means that you need to find a new floor for your kitchen and you need to find one fast. If you are looking for something that is strong, long lasting, easy to clean, and slip resistant then you should consider one that is made from bamboo.

As we all know bamboo is a type of plant that is so tough that it takes a lot to kill it when in its natural habitat. It is also considered to be one of the toughest materials that is used in the kitchen and other rooms in the home. It is similar to hardwood floors except that it is much more durable and able to withstand a lot more wear and tear.

Some of the more common features that you can expect from it include:

  • Insect resistant
  • Mildew resistant
  • Fire resistant
  • Ability to stain it to change the appearance
  • Durable, renewable source
  • Can be used on radiant heat floors

The difference between bamboo kitchen flooring and hardwood flooring is that is stronger. Wood floors can be damaged by water easily and if you are not careful it can soak it up and cause hole and mildew to creep inside. In the end you will have to rip it all up and replace it with something new.

But bamboo flooring is not so easily affected by water and has the ability to last under even the harshest of circumstances. It also gives your home an exotic look that can be hard to find in other flooring types.
