I remember when the cell phone used to sit inside of your car and weighed five pounds. Now a days it seems that companies are making cell phones that weigh less than an ounce and are so thin and small that you can carry them in your pocket and if you are not careful you can lose them in a second.

Cell phone companies are always coming out with the next best thing and trying to keep pace with the competition. There are tons of choices for people looking to trade in their basic flip phone for one of the brand new smart phones. The question is – which one should you get?

iPhone

One of the hottest phones that has been going strong for the past year is the Apple iPhone. This phone is one of the smartest that you can get your hands on so much so that it was debuted with a price tag of $800. Anyone who thought they could save money by buying one on eBay was mistaken as they were going for more then $1,000! But now the price tag has been lowered to $99 to $147. It can only be used by people with AT&T/Cingular.

LG Dare

This is one of the biggest competitions to the iPhone and is probably one of the reasons why Apple lowered the price for it. It has similar features – but is slightly bigger. However, it can be slightly more expensive and can only be used by people with Verizon.

PalmOne Treo

The Treo is a phone that has been around for a little bit and is similar to the Blackberry phones. They are a CDMA phone and have many great features. They are especially great for the hardcore business people who use their phone 24/7. They have a QWERTY keypad instead of the touch screen type pad – which can make it easier for some people. They are only available to people with Sprint.
